COURSE INFORMATION 

Building Science Fundamentals is a two-day seminar that teaches the basic knowledge needed to design and build durable, energy efficient, affordable and healthy buildings.

Dr. Joseph Lstiburek and Dr. John Straube will discuss building science principles (such as the control of heat, air and moisture and IAQ) and show you how to apply them to low-energy enclosure design, advanced HVAC systems, forensic investigations, and the repair and retrofit of existing buildings.

Building Science Fundamentals 2009 focuses on commercial, institutional and multi-family buildings. However residential topics relating to unvented roofs/attics, basement and crawl space construction will also be covered and examples relating to single-family construction will be presented.

The Fundamentals class has been attended by over 1500 builders, architects, engineers, building science consultants, building code officials, facility managers, building product manufacturers and government officials.

REGISTRATION
The registration fee for the two-day Building Science Fundamentals seminar is $795 USD.
(fee includes lunch on both days but does not include travel or accommodation)

Cancellation Policy: to cancel your registration, send written notice to Building Science Corporation via fax (1-978-589-5103) prior to the date of the seminar you registered for. Your registration fee will be refunded, less a $150 handling charge.

The Westford Regency Inn & Conference Center is centrally located in Massachusetts off Exit 32, I-495 and close to Routes 2, 3, and 93. Access is easy from all major points in the Boston area. The Westford Regency is:
ß 35 miles from Logan International Airport; Boston, Massachusetts
ß Less than a 60 minute drive from Boston, Worcester, and Providence, RI.
ß 23 miles northwest of Boston
ß 220 miles from New York City

HOTEL INFORMATION
A limited number of rooms for seminar attendees are available for Wednesday and Thursday night at the Westford Regency Inn.  We have reserved rooms at $120.00 per night for single or double occupancy.  All rates are subject to state and local tax, currently 9.7%.
Reservations for the event should be made by individual attendees directly with the Hotel’s reservation department by calling (978) 692-8200.  Please refer to “Building Science Corporation” when making reservations to guarantee the quoted rate.
In order to guarantee reservations for late arrival, all reservations must be accompanied by a check or credit card for the first night’s accommodations.  The reservation cut off date is 4/22/2009.  After the cut off date no reservations will be accepted at the special group rate.  Guests will be accommodated on a space and rate available basis.  Check in time is 2 pm and check out time is 12 noon.  The Hotel will accommodate early arrival or late check outs on a space available basis only.
